Kwits Español

Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 13, 2026

Kwits is an app for sharing expenses with friends. It is made by Nicolas Frugoni, trading as Frusoft ("we", "us"), who is the controller of your personal data. This page explains what we collect, why, who helps us run the service, and the choices you have.

The short version

1. What we collect

Account

You sign in with Apple, Google or an email link. We receive your email address (this can be Apple's private relay address), your name and, with Google, your profile photo address, as provided by that service. In Kwits you choose a display name and a kiwi look, which other people in your plans can see. We never receive your Apple or Google password.

What you and your friends add to plans

Plans, groups and members; expenses (title, amount, currency, date, category, who paid, how it is split, notes, edit history); receipt item claims; payments you mark as paid (amount, note, method); pot contributions; bring-list items; attendance days; comments and reactions.

Photos (optional)

If you attach a receipt, expense or comment photo, it is compressed on your phone (about 40 to 150 KB) and stored in Cloud Storage. The free limit is 10 photos per plan. Saving a photo after a receipt scan is optional and off by default.

Device and notifications

If you allow notifications: a push token, platform, app version, language, time zone, home currency and your notification choices. We use them to deliver reminders and activity notifications and to show amounts in your currency.

Purchases

If you buy Kwits Pro, payment is handled by the App Store or Google Play. We receive from our subscription provider (RevenueCat) whether you have Pro, which product, which store and when it expires. We never see your card or payment details.

Reports and support

If you report content, we store who reported, which plan and item, and the reason. If you email us, we keep your message and address to reply.

Technical logs

Google's infrastructure (Firebase) processes IP addresses and request details to deliver the service, keep it secure and prevent abuse.

2. What we do not do

3. Why we use your data

PurposeBasis (GDPR)
Provide Kwits: accounts, plans, balances, sync, invitesPerformance of the contract
Push notifications and optional photosYour consent, which you can withdraw in system settings or by deleting the photo
Security, abuse prevention, handling reportsLegitimate interests
Pro purchases and tax recordsContract and legal obligation

4. Who can see your data

Members of a plan or group see its expenses, balances, comments and photos, and each member's display name and kiwi. People who join a plan by link or QR code see only the plans they are in, never the group's other plans. Other signed-in users cannot browse your data. A public summary page exists only if a plan creator turns it on, and it shows amounts without comments or photos.

5. Who processes data for us

ProviderRole
Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, Cloud Messaging, Hosting)Hosting and storing the data. Firestore uses the EU multi-region (eur3); Storage and Functions run in Belgium (europe-west1).
Apple and Google (sign-in, push delivery, app stores)Sign-in, push notifications, payments
RevenueCatSubscription status for Kwits Pro

These providers act on our instructions. Some may process data outside the EU, using safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. We do not sell data and do not share it for advertising.

6. How long we keep it

7. Deleting your account

Go to Me, Settings, Delete account in the app, or follow /delete-account. We then:

Expenses, payments and receipts you added to plans shared with other people are kept and shown as "Former member". They are the group's shared financial record, and removing them would change other people's balances. Write to us if you want a specific item removed.

8. Your rights

You can access, correct, export and delete your data, and object to or restrict some processing. Most of this is in the app (edit your profile and expenses, export your data and delete your account in Settings). For anything else, email support@frusoft.dev. You can also complain to your data protection authority.

9. Children

Kwits is not for people under 16. If you believe a child has an account, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Security

Data is encrypted in transit and protected by access rules so that only members of a plan can read it. No system is perfectly secure, but we limit what we collect so there is less to protect.

11. Changes

If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we will update the date above and tell you in the app.
